Prick London Cactus Shop
London is full of quirky, independent shops and Prick London cactus shop is no exception. The aptly named Prick is London’s first cactus and succulent boutique. Based next to the eponymous Wah!Nails on Kingsland Road it offers a selection of the most unusual and exotic plants sourced from across the UK and Europe. Prick sees cacti and succulents as living sculptures that take years to fully develop.
Prick is owned by award winning photographer Gynelle Leon whose love affair with cacti started after visiting Yves Saint Laurent’s Jardin Majorelle in Marrakesh in 2011. Inspired by the plants geometric forms and finding on return to London that very few places stocked the rare varieties she liked she embarked on a journey to create a shop dedicated to the plants she loves.
Seeing as cacti and succulents are very on trend right now I popped down to the shop yesterday to find a little house plant of my own.
The shop is already is already creating a buzz in Dalston and from the pictures you can see why, the shop stocks so many beautiful varieties of cacti and succulents.
It was a really tough choice but Gynelle helped me choose the lovely succulent plant below, it looks right at home on my window seal and as it only needs to be watered every couple of weeks I shouldn’t kill it hopefully!
